The artist likes to use the technique of linoleum engraving, plate
compressed cork.
This technique can be compared to the woodcut. In this kind of more
flexible
engraving, ink carefully avoids hollows engraved.
"In my engraving work, I cannot deny the preponderant influence of
Picasso:
one linoleum plate engraved several times to get the desired colour. The
exhibition "Picasso linograveur" in Antibes and at the Gianadda Foundation
in Martigny in the autumn of 1988 certainly influenced me a lot.
Replicating several copies with endless possibilities, the risk of "double
or quits" linked to successive draws, simple equipment and the perpetual
flat
depth effect show how attracted I am by this technique."
